Messina’s Proud to Be Part of JAX Brewery’s $10 Million Riverfront Revival

One of New Orleans’ most iconic buildings is entering a bold new chapter. The JAX Brewery, a historic riverfront landmark in the French Quarter, is undergoing a $10 million redevelopment aimed at revitalizing the space with a mix of restaurants, entertainment venues, and cultural experiences. As detailed in a recent NOLA.com article, the effort is part of a larger vision to reenergize the riverfront and attract more foot traffic from both locals and visitors.

Messina’s Catering & Events is proud to be among the new tenants bringing this vision to life. Opened in December 2024, The Misi by Messina’s is our newest private event venue. Located on the second floor, it offers stunning views of the Mississippi River and a one-of-a-kind setting for private events, especially for convention guests looking to step beyond the hotel and experience the heart of the city.

For Stacey Messina, the opportunity was a dream realized: “It was always our dream to be downtown on the river. We couldn’t believe that this opportunity came to us.”

The Misi has quickly become a popular choice for corporate and convention clients, thanks to its unbeatable views and walkable location. The building’s next planned addition is the Museum of Illusions—an interactive, perception-bending experience slated to open in mid-October. With its appeal for corporate events, team building, and bachelorette parties, the venue is a natural complement to The Misi.
