Messina’s Celebrates Mardi Gras in a Big Way

The Messina’s team took center stage during an unforgettable Mardi Gras Ball Season! From extravagant masquerade balls to high-energy pre-parade celebrations, we delivered top-tier hospitality at six major Mardi Gras events, ensuring every krewe and guest experienced the very best of Carnival season.

As the exclusive catering partner of The Pontchartrain Convention & Civic Center, we proudly hosted five spectacular Mardi Gras Balls and a Krewe Pre-Parade Party. Krewes celebrating with us included Argus, Excalibur, Sparta, and Thoth—with The Krewe of Thoth leading the way as our largest event, welcoming over 2,500 revelers! From exquisite cuisine to premium beverage service, we set the stage for an unforgettable night of festivities.

On February 20th, The MISI by Messina’s welcomed the Krewe of Cork for its Grand Marshal Meet & Greet. Members paraded into the venue in true New Orleans fashion—led by a Second Line! Guests were treated to a custom-curated menu by Chef Mark, and the balcony overlooking the Mississippi River stole the show, making it the ultimate party hotspot.

Mardi Gras revelry continued February 21–23 with the highly anticipated Family Gras, presented by the Jefferson Convention & Visitors Bureau. The three-day festival delivered an incredible lineup of performances from En Vogue, Justin Moore, Debbie Gibson, and Ambrosia, culminating in the arrival of the Jefferson Parades. And when rain threatened Sunday’s celebrations, the event seamlessly transitioned indoors to The Pontchartrain Center, where attendees enjoyed performances from Amanda Shaw, Gabby Barrett, and Rascal Flatts.

To close out February in grand fashion, Messina’s partnered with Generations Hall on February 23rd to cater the Krewe of King Arthur’s exclusive Krewe Breakfast, serving up an incredible spread for 880 members before they took to the streets for their iconic parade on Tuesday.

And, of course, no Mardi Gras celebration is complete without Lundi Gras on the River! Hosted by the 800 Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club members, the festival featured a day of food, music, arts, and crafts along the Mississippi River. The 31st Annual Zulu Lundi Gras Festival brought the city to life with performances from local and Grammy-winning artists across three stages, making it the perfect way to ring in Fat Tuesday.

From elegant gala dinners to vibrant festival feasts, Messina’s was honored to bring the flavors of New Orleans to every celebration. Here’s to another unforgettable Mardi Gras!
