Messina’s Serves Up an Unforgettable Culinary Experience at Super Bowl LIX

New Orleans was the ultimate destination for Super Bowl LIX, and Messina’s played a key role in making the week unforgettable. From exclusive VIP events to high-profile celebrations, our team brought world-class cuisine and hospitality to the biggest stage in sports.

The excitement kicked off on February 6th at the historic Saenger Theatre, where Messina’s had the honor of catering the prestigious NFL Honors Awards. Over 1,800 elite guests, including NFL legends and celebrities, indulged in a curated menu featuring andouille mini corn dog skewers, blackened alligator bites, gorgonzola-stuffed dates, and buffalo cauliflower bites. Meanwhile, more than 700 press and crew members enjoyed our signature hospitality behind the scenes. This star-studded event, broadcast live on ESPN, celebrated the NFL’s best, including the coveted NFL Man of the Year award.

The following evening, February 7th, we hosted Nike’s exclusive high-style apparel reception at The Rooftop on Basin. Against the stunning backdrop of the New Orleans skyline, guests savored an authentic Louisiana Crawfish and shrimp boil on the terrace, bacon-wrapped scallops, blue crab claws, and filet of beef tenderloin with truffle potatoes inside the elegant salon.

On February 8th, renowned sports agent Leigh Steinberg held his legendary Super Bowl Bash at the New Orleans Jazz Museum, benefiting brain health research. With 1,500 attendees, our team served up New Orleans classics, including gumbo, etouffee, po’boys, bbq shrimp & grits, and pecan praline bread pudding—a menu that truly embodied the spirit of the city.

The excitement continued on February 9th with an elite Super Bowl client event for NOLA DMC at The MISI by Messina’s, our stunning riverfront venue. Guests enjoyed breathtaking views of the Mississippi River, expertly crafted cocktails, and an unforgettable five-star plated dinner, capped off with an interactive bananas foster flambé experience.

Super Bowl Sunday delivered the ultimate game-day feast! In collaboration with Forbes Magazine and local non-profit Uncommon Construction, Messina’s boiled over 500 pounds of fresh Louisiana crawfish, paired with Cajun classics like sausage, corn, mushrooms, and potatoes. Rain or shine, our team made sure the flavors of New Orleans took center stage.

And that’s not all—throughout the week, we provided VIP catering for The Jung Hotel and One11 Hotel, ensuring their in-house clients experienced the very best of our city’s cuisine.

Super Bowl LIX once again solidified New Orleans as the premier host city, and Messina’s was honored to showcase our signature flavors and service throughout the festivities. Here’s to another unforgettable Super Bowl experience!
