In 2020, only five percent of hundreds of thousands of local wedding professionals listed on The Knot received this distinguished award. In its fourteenth annual year, The Knot determines the winners by analyzing millions of user reviews across various vendor categories to find the highest rated vendors of the year. The winners therefore represent the best of the best wedding professionals that engaged couples should consider booking for their own unique wedding.
Recently ranked the most beautiful place to get married in New Orleans, Messina’s at the Terminal is located at the beautiful Art Deco Lakefront Airport. Messina’s Catering and Events is the exclusive caterer at this unique venue. This beautifully restored airport serves as a backdrop to some of the most premier weddings and social events in New Orleans. The terminal features four unique event spaces, each with its own part in New Orleans history.
- The Atrium at the Terminal: a two-story open atrium encased in marble and granite. The terrazzo floor features a beautiful inlaid center compass as well as airport designs. The room’s upper terrace level is trimmed in spectacular railings with ceiling reliefs and a decorative painted ceiling.
- The Huey P. Long Room is prime meeting space overlooking Lake Pontchartrain. The room is equipped with AV as well as an open observation deck.
- The Terrace offers beautiful open-air views of Lake Pontchartrain and the runway. String lights, and beautiful sunsets make the perfect backdrop for weddings and corporate events.
- The Walnut Room is outfitted in rich woodwork, giving it a warm hue. The standout is the breathtaking large art décor bar that overlooks the runway.
The Rooftop on Basin
Messina’s recently leased and completely renovated the 4th floor of the historic Basin Street Station and turned it into The Rooftop on Basin, New Orleans newest rooftop venue. The building, which served as the administration building for the historic Southern Railway, is also the home to the New Orleans Museum on the first floor. It’s located in the historic Storyville District, which was once the red-light district of New Orleans. The Rooftop on Basin is the perfect combination of indoor/outdoor for any event, and can easily accommodate parties of 50-200 guests.
