New Orleans’ Uptown and Garden District areas are shaded by centuries-old live oaks and magnolia trees, narrow lights with multi-story homes, and the air is alive with the heady scent of jasmine. Soulet Muse, one of Messina’s newest preferred catering venues, is at the heart of the Garden District on historic Magazine Street. It beckons back to a time when things were slower, grander and its residents rarely found any reason to leave.
In another century, the Garden District is where you would find New Orleans’ most opulent mansions. In the 21st Century, many have been transformed into everything from yoga studios and coffee shops to highly acclaimed restaurants and bars. The Garden District was settled by French and Iberian elites, the first Creole to the city, who didn’t wish to mingle with the commoners from “downriver” in the French Quarter. Today, the Garden District is second only to the French Quarter in favorite places to visit in the Crescent City.
For many reasons, Messina’s Catering and Events is proud to be one of Soulet Muse’s preferred caterers. The unparalleled location is near world-class shopping, some of the city’s most famous coffee shops, bars, and restaurants neatly tucked into majestic, manicured, and inspiring neighborhoods. Soulet Muse offers history, charm, and a whole lot of soul in a cozy 1850s guest house and event space that can accommodate parties up to 150 if standing, either inside or out.
From Fairytale Courtyard Weddings to Corporate Cocktail Parties
The interior and lush courtyard of Soulet Muse screams New Orleans. Photographers and guests alike love Soulet Muse because many rooms sport exposed brick, antique hardware, large French windows, and one-of-a-kind furnishings ready for their close-up. Some rooms have kitchenettes or full kitchens, fireplaces, and dressing nooks. Many rooms feature private entrances and access to the shared courtyard on Magazine Street, where the best of New Orleans is just a stroll away.
Soulet Muse is in great company. Other historic venues Messina’s serves include Chateau LeMoyne, a grand antebellum-era southern mansion. Messina’s at the Terminal offers The Grand Atrium which is a spacious Art-Deco, two-story space encased in marble and granite that can accommodate up to 500 guests in a reception-style event. The Walnut Room is a more intimate setting nestled in rich woodwork and warm hues that can host from 30 to 175 guests depending upon the service format. The Observation Deck at The Terminal overlooks Lake Pontchartrain and the runway and is the ideal setting for weddings, corporate events, and other receptions. The Huey P. Long Room, named for the former Governor of Louisiana, also overlooks the Lake and is the Airport’s prime meeting space that can accommodate up to 75 guests. Messina’s Catering & Events is the exclusive New Orleans caterer for the Lakefront Airport Terminal.
We also offer food and beverage services at French Quarter architectural gems, including Batture Bistro + Bar and The Rooftop on Basin. Rooftop on Basin is perched on top of the historic Basin St. Station, home to the New Orleans Museum. (Americanstarbuzz) It is less than half a mile off Bourbon Street and offers panoramic views of the skyline. Batture is a casual, sleek restaurant located inside the French Quarter’s One11Hotel, which blends a contemporary vibe with a historical setting.
