Chef Mark Daniels Featured on WWL-TV Ahead of Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off

Messina’s Director of Culinary, Chef Mark Daniels, recently joined Violet Peters of Visit Jefferson Parish on WWL-TV to preview the upcoming Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off, one of the state’s premier culinary competitions.

Since its inception in 2008, the Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off has brought together chefs from across the state to compete for the title of King or Queen of Louisiana Seafood. The annual event has earned a reputation as a launching pad for culinary talent, with past winners going on to open restaurants, host television programs and gain national recognition within the food industry.

Messina’s is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s event and part of the seafood tasting experience. Chef Mark will join representatives from 19 local restaurants serving seafood dishes for attendees while some of Louisiana’s top chefs compete live on stage. Guests visiting the Messina’s station will have the opportunity to sample Bayou Tortellini Pasta – Louisiana crawfish and shrimp in a Creole cream sauce with three-cheese tortellini.

During the WWL-TV segment, Chef Mark discussed the importance of supporting Louisiana’s seafood industry and celebrating the fishermen, producers and culinary professionals who help make Louisiana cuisine famous around the world.

We’re honored to support an event that showcases the very best of Louisiana seafood and highlights the incredible culinary talent found throughout our state.
