We recently had the pleasure of working with Christin Hron and Jay Trusheim on their beautiful wedding. New Orleans Wedding Magazine wrote a beautiful article about the event.
High-school sweethearts Christin Hron and Jay Trusheim met at Jesuit High School’s junior prom and began dating after seeing each other again at a mutual friend’s party. After spending nearly eight years together, Jay was ready to pop the question at the church where he and Christin attend mass every Sunday. Both are very close to their family and friends, and it was important that they share this moment with them.
After the proposal, Jay arranged for them to have dinner with both their families and meet their friends for drinks to celebrate. Christin was ecstatic to finally be engaged to her best friend. “There is never a dull moment in our relationship, as Jay has a great sense of humor, and I somehow always unintentionally do things to make him laugh!” exclaims Christin.
La Louisiane Bakery was ready to construct the most exquisite wedding cake as owners Joel and Pattie Hron prepared to give away their only daughter, Christin. “My mom and I actually designed the cake together, and we did this about two months before the wedding to ensure it would complement the overall theme,” Christin shares. The 8-tier cake encompassed different size layers, flowers and a lace design to accompany the design of the bride’s gown.
On the cake was the monogram logo the couple chose for their wedding which was also represented on their invitations, napkins and ice sculpture. The cake was traditional white almond wedding cake with Swiss butter cream frosting. The layers were accented with alternating fillings of pecan praline, almond mousseline, white chocolate mousseline and fresh blueberries and Italian cream cake.
Jay’s groom cake was a 3-tier chocolate ganache cheesecake with fresh fruit. The top tier was shaped like a fleur de lis and topped with fresh fruit. The sides were covered with chocolate pieces and chocolate covered strawberries. Guests also went home with delicious pralines from La
Louisiane Bakery as wedding favors.
